This is a great meditation for when you’re confronted with a problem you can’t solve with your own will, big or small. Maybe it’s an irretrievable loss, like the death of someone you care about. A disappointment at work. Someone you care about whose behavior you want to control, but can’t. If you are struggling to accept something that you can’t change, spend some time focused on letting go of your resistance.
There is a concept in Buddhism – “Everything is exactly as it should be.” Maybe you don’t fully understand why things should be this way now, but there may come a time you are glad things didn’t go the way you thought they should.
